Cathay Pigments Iron Oxide History
Founded in 1979 as Advanced Chemicals Ltd (ACL), Cathay Pigments is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the color industry, ranked as the 3rd largest producer of synthetic Iron Oxides. In the late 90s Cathay Pigments acquired companies in the USA, Europe, South Africa, and Australia to expand its global markets. In 2002 Cathay Pigments invested $20 million (USD) in the development of iron oxide for coating and chemical applications. This commitment has earned us international recognition as a leader in innovative product development, and the manufacturing and supply of Iron Oxide pigments.
In 2005 we launched the production of cost effective (FF) free flowing iron oxide pigments for automation within the construction industry. Cathay Pigments continues to grow and expand its product lines, which now include CathayGran (CG) ) spray dried iron oxide pigments and Optisperse (D) liquid color for additional automation within the construction industry.
